URGENT**HELP!!**URGENT**HELP!!

The Burrell Company and Quarriers have lodged an appeal against Inverclyde Council’s decision to refuse planning permission for the conversion of Mount Zion Church into a block of flats. The public notice was published in the Renfrewshire Gazette on Wednesday 12th October. The public have just 14 days to lodge objections to the appeal.

The Save the Church Committee is now calling for a public inquiry to decide the future of this important national landmark. But we need your help…

Please write to the Scottish Executive about the Children’s Cathedral NOW!

Your efforts so far have made a real difference. The councillors listened to public opinion and rejected the plans. We now need to spell out once again that people care about the heart of Quarrier’s Village.

Some new points you may wish to raise:

  1. Since the application was lodged three years ago, there has been significant development in and around the village.
  2. Carsemeadow nursery may also be sold for housing.
  3. Impact on roads, services and infrastructure.

Submission by Quarriers of application for Heritage Centre (This was part of the committee’s business plan which was rejected by Quarriers.)

PLEASE PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO WRITE – YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

All objections should be sent to:

The First Minister at the Scottish Executive,
Inquiry Reporters Unit,
4 The Courtyard,
Callendar Business Park,
Callendar Road,
Falkirk FK1 1XE …………..by WEDNESDAY 26TH OCTOBER, 2005
